Sou contra revoluções. Elas não resolvem de forma definitiva os problemas que as motivaram. Pensem em qualquer revolução, mas principalmente nas duas mais importantes, a francesa e a russa.

Laboram em crasso erro (!) os que ingenuamente acreditam que a Lava Jata será um divisor de águas na história da corrupção no país. Como se os corruptos tivessem qualquer escrúpulo ou pudor na hora de, nas imortais palavras de Gerson, o Canhotinha de Ouro da Seleção de 70, ‘levar vantagem em tudo’. Depois do escândalo dos Anões do Orçamento em 1993, os deputados passaram a agir honestamente? E depois do impeachment do Collor, foi restaurada a moralidade no Congresso? E o Mensalão, esquema de compra de votos de deputados e senadores em 2005 e 2006, assustou a classe política?
Pois então, como imaginar que a prisão de alguns canalhas – políticos e empresários - fará estancar a sangria dos cofres públicos? Em pouco tempo, em pouquíssimo tempo, faster than you can say Bob’s your uncle, estarão todos soltos, livres e ricos, tirando sarro da nossa cara.
Pois nunca se esqueçam, tolinhos: a corrupção é coisa nossa. Tal como a jabuticaba, o Chacrinha, o Garrincha e o Pixinguinha, só pra citar alguns, a corrupção é coisa muito nossa. Não fomos nós que a inventamos, claro. Já em Roma se dizia ‘plurime leges, corruptissima republica’ (quanto mais leis houver, mais corrupto será o governo).
Mas a corrupção se adaptou tão bem e tão profundamente em nosso país, que agora já está plenamente integrada em nossos usos e costumes: parar em fila dupla ‘só um instantinho’, estacionar em lugar proibido, perguntar ‘com nota ou sem nota?’ intimidar uma pessoa, normalmente humilde, com a ‘carteirada’: ‘Cê sabe com quem você está falando?’, subornar um policial ou fiscal – enfim, a lista é endless.
